The Project Showcase is an independent editorial publication that covers the stories behind useful independent projects and helps the right people discover them. It focuses on niche community platforms, specialized online tools, and the practical lessons of building for specific audiences. The Project Showcase was founded by the same person behind Duckd HQ, ShootingTalk, and Hikari Stays — a connection that is disclosed prominently throughout the site.
Founder
The Project Showcase Founder
The Project Showcase was founded by an independent developer and publisher who also operates Duckd HQ (a platform for off-road communities), ShootingTalk (a responsible firearm ownership resource), and Hikari Stays (a pre-launch rural Japan hospitality concept). The founder's background is in building specialized online tools for niche communities. The Project Showcase was created to document and share the lessons from that work, and to help similar independent projects reach the people who would benefit from them.
The founder does not maintain a public social media presence. Press inquiries should be directed through the contact form.

All three founding projects share a founder or operator connection with The Project Showcase. This is disclosed on every page where these projects appear. The Project Showcase does not claim independent editorial distance from these projects.
Duckd HQ
Active developmentDuckd HQ is a purpose-built platform for the off-road community. It provides trail discovery, club and chapter management, vehicle profiles, event coordination, and stewardship resources — all designed around how off-road communities actually organize, rather than adapted from a general-purpose social network. Currently in active development.
ShootingTalk
Active developmentShootingTalk is a responsible firearm ownership resource focused on safety notices, recall information, training resources, and club and range communities. It is not a sales platform or an advocacy site — its purpose is to make safety-critical information easier to find for responsible owners. Currently in active development.
Hikari Stays
Pre-launch conceptHikari Stays is a pre-launch concept for responsible akiya (vacant home) restoration and rural Japan hospitality. The project is focused on community partnership frameworks, traditional architecture preservation, and responsible tourism principles. No operating properties exist at this time. Currently in the research and planning phase.
